Atmosphere control is a critical part of bell annealing. Whether
it is hydrogen, nitrogen with propylene, or another combustible
atmosphere, the atmosphere control system must assure safety under
all conditions. All RAD-CON systems exceed the requirements of USA’s
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code 86C.
Consistent decarburization and soot prevention
during heat treatment of ferrous wire is critical for most product
applications. RAD-CON 100% Hydrogen
Anneal is a viable solution for new installations but existing
nitrogen-based equipment can also produce acceptable product utilizing
one of the RAD-CON Atmosphere Control Systems.
RAD-CON has two available Atmosphere Control
Systems: APEx (Atmosphere Process Equilibrium) and ACCS (Activity
of Carbon Control System), both using proprietary algorithms to
accurately control the atmosphere potential during the process.
The application of one or both of the systems will depend on the
annealing method (sub-critical or super-critical) and atmosphere
gas. Contact RAD-CON for advice on the proper system for your shop. |
